About
Ronie’s personal and professional philosophy very much aligns with the inner vision most hold for themselves. Just as it is one’s objective to have the tools to thrive in our ever-changing world, Ronie believes in creating challenging and inspirational opportunities that promote intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth for all individuals. I believe in showing people that they can achieve anything that they put their minds and energy to. Too often, people hear that they “are not good at that” or “not smart enough for that”. When Ronie hear’s that, she thinks “that person is not good at that YET”. As people, we are both intrinsically and extrinsically encouraged and motivated to follow and achieve our goals. Some need a little more motivation and encouragement, along with a lot of love and dedication. Ronie is a huge music and book lover. She loves the classics. She has read Dante’s Divine Comedy in every English translation and especially loves thriller novels.

Credentials, Qualifications and Languages
-
Ronie earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and her minor in American Sign Language from Kean University in 2013.
-
Ronie began her graduate school experience with Applied Behavior Analysis. However, after the untimely passing of two crucial family members, she found herself wondering how people dealt with grief, loss, adversity, and other major life influences. She changed her graduate path into counseling and never looked back since.
-
She fell in love with helping others work through difficult times in their life and reach the personal goals they established for themselves. After graduating, she worked in two alternative therapeutic schools for students, ranging from Pre-K to post-Secondary, with behavioral and emotional disturbances. After that, she transitioned into public education, where she has been for the last five years, and her top priority is to provide counseling services to elementary and middle school students to facilitate academic, social, and emotional success as well as provide crisis intervention and management when needed.
-
She also educates and provides transitional skills to help in preparation for thriving in their community.
Why Healthcare
Ronie believes that caring for one’s mental health should be on the same level as caring for one’s physical health. She believes that we are not just physical forms wandering around. Our thoughts and feelings control the body we move around in. If we don’t support and nourish that part, the rest of our being suffers. Accessible and multi-faceted resources for mental health should be as commonplace as any other medical need. There is no shame or judgment in wanting to make sure your mind is achieving your goals for life.
