About

Matthew received a specialization in clinical mental health treatment through his Master of Social Work program at Western Michigan University. Since then, he has worked with clients to successfully treat anxiety, depression, substance use, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He has experience working with people of all ages but specializes in working with adults with anxiety disorders. He believes that people's painful early memories can have an immense impact on their current relationships and success in life and that people have an innate ability to heal from psychological trauma, but that they often need a little help in process. He approaches treatment in a collaborative, client-led manner and understands that at the heart of a good therapy relationship is trust and empathy.

During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, adventuring outdoors, and finding new delicious types of food to eat. He values family, relaxation, and social justice, and he aspires to continue developing his skills as a psychotherapist throughout his life.
