About
Jerome started his counseling career a little later than many therapists who are also recent graduates. Having lived many different experiences before going to graduate school, he’s been a son and brother, husband and father, civilian and soldier. In his role as a military leader, he has counseled many men and women at various stages of life through their personal and professional loss, change, and growth. He has fathered not only his own biological children but has also been a protector and guide for 56 children who had been placed in his home over a span of over 8.5 years.
Jerome is of the Christian faith and has a passion for seeing others work through their past and recent adverse experiences to develop a strong sense of self and foster personal growth and healing. To this end, he leans into a strengths-based approach to therapy, facilitating individual recognition of the potential each person has to overcome setbacks. He uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialogue, and Motivational Interviewing to help people discover more about themselves and their self-perceptions. Jerome is also a Certified Brainspotting practitioner who helps guide his clients through past trauma to a place of healing and, eventually, peace.
Lastly, Jerome is also a hobby farmer who raises dairy goats. He is training them and his two Great Pyrenees livestock guardians to become therapy partners sometime in the future.

Why Healthcare
Jerome’s passion for providing mental healthcare to people is borne from his own struggles growing up in poverty and from other adverse life experiences, which he, too, has sought and received help to overcome through counseling and therapy. As a Veteran, foster parent, and community participant, he has seen the need in people from all walks of life who, sometimes, just need someone to connect with, trust, and share their experiences confidentially.
