About
Ester Buchnik is a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in Florida, providing Family Therapy services to adults, families, and couples seeking relational therapy. Ester speaks Russian and English. Ester graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and spent over 10 years in the field working with Holocaust Survivors, Disadvantaged Youths, and Families who were dealing with foster care issues or child protective services due to domestic issues or neglect. Ester decided to go back for her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy in order to be more helpful to clients.
Ester works with individuals, couples, and families to address various areas of concern, including sexual trauma, post-birth trauma, fertility issues and loss, and sexual concerns, including; porn addiction, sexual violence, and sexual dysregulation. Ester is LGBTQI inclusive and also provides therapy for communication barriers, family conflict management, social skills, navigating big life changes such as divorce, joining of two families with multiple children, stillborn loss, new parent therapy, feelings of isolation, strained relationships, and self-esteem concerns. Ester also helps clients overcome body dysmorphic issues.
Ester's sessions are solution-focused in combination with the Gottman Method, Emotional Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral, EMDR, and Person-centered. Ester uses a combination of Systems Theory and Strength-Based Therapy.
One of Esters's favorite quotes in relation to life and therapy is, "Where you stand determines what you see and what you do not see; it also determines the angle you see it from; a change in where you stand changes everything," Steve de Shazer.

Why Healthcare
Ester is passionate about providing mental healthcare because she has seen how individuals suffer from various things. Getting that assistance to process helps the person let go of so much stress and anxiety. Being there to help unburden the client and allow for some healthy processing of behaviors that no longer work for the client is the most rewarding and humbling career.
