Most of Cynthia's career has been spent working with children, adolescents, and their families. She also has many years of experience working with adults with mental health and drug and alcohol needs. She has devoted her career to helping clients identify their strengths and resources in order to meet their own needs effectively. Cynthia is good at building therapeutic alliances and helping clients to identify their strengths. She works to help clients to develop appropriate goals that are realistic and attainable for them. She has experience in crisis prevention, interventions, and management, which includes 10 years of doing adult mental health crisis on-call services. She has completed various trauma training and coursework, along with providing trauma-informed treatment for the past 6 years. She has worked as a supervisor and clinical lead of a team that delivered community school-based service. As a supervisor, Cynthia worked to educate, support, and encourage the personal and professional development of others. She is a compassionate, competent team player. Cynthia believes that it is human to struggle with mental health issues and that having support to help you through them or to manage problems is invaluable. Cynthia is a Lock Haven University Alumni, for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. She has worked in mental health care and social work fields for the past 25 years. She decided to pursue a graduate degree after many years of working in the field, with a goal to advance her knowledge and clinical skills to be able to offer more advance counseling services to others in need. Her graduate studies included general population care needs and specializing in child and family and military family populations. Cynthia developed a strong interest in learning about trauma distress and adopting a trauma-focused approach in treatment, in order to raise her own awareness and develop practices that best support persons who have experienced traumatic events.
