About
Amanda comes from a community mental health background, working with clients in their homes/streets from highly disadvantaged backgrounds and learning to cope with intense mental health symptoms. This required knowledge of family systems, cultural awareness and humility, adaptability of treatment, a philosophy of meeting the client “where they are” and a holistic approach to treatment planning. She has unique experience working with clients in a home setting, developing coping skills in all aspects of life, and facilitating better communication and care for those supporting loved ones with mental illness (and vice versa). Before entering social work, Amanda worked in art sales in New York City. She has two cats (Enkidu & Ishtar) and enjoys making art with found objects.
